Yachtswoman of the Year

Virginia Read Memorial Trophy

Yachtswoman of the Year shall be selected for her outstanding service, achievements, participation in, contribution to, and promotion of the sport of sailing in the Barnegat Bay area. Said qualifications may have been over a protracted period of time.

Suitable candidates's eligibility shall be limited to female participants of the Ocean County College sailing program and members of the Barnegat Bay Yacht Racing Association (BBYRA) member yacht clubs. Qualified candidates may be eligible posthumously.

Nominations from the BBYRA, each member club, and the Ocean County College Sailing Advisory Board shall be submitted in writing to the Fleet Captain of the Toms River Yacht Club no later than Labor Day. (from the deed of gift)
